My Background
Originally starting with dance as a child I moved onto learning the instrument when I was 10-years-old. With great tuition and determination I gained my ABRSM Grade 8 less than five years later. Following this, I began studying for the ABRSM Teaching Diploma which led to continued learning, graduating with BA Hons from UCLAN University. Additional study was then taken within the teaching profession with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at York St. John University.
For the past 20 years, I've sincerely enjoyed teaching music in higher education and privately, to a wide range of abilities and ages.
Teaching is something I absolutely adore. It is so incredibly rewarding to share knowledge with others and to see them grow not only in ability but personally with confidence too. From the tentative first steps to the "Ah ha" moment when a piece has been mastered, no matter what level, there's plenty of joy and pride to experience from both sides.
As for lessons, they are taught during the week at my home in Handforth, Wilmslow. I have a purpose built music room overlooking the garden, making it a relaxed and comfortable space to learn.
